About Us

The Appraiser's Office is assigned the task of appraising, or valuing real estate and personal property at fair market value for tax purposes.

The County Appraiser does not set, nor collect taxes. Once the taxing jurisdictions, such as school districts and county governments (County Commissioners, city council, fire districts etc.) propose their budget, appraisal information is provided to the Records and Tax Administration (RTA).

The RTA is responsible for setting the mill levy and the the County Treasurer is assigned to collect the taxes.

Our Website

This Website provides constituents with extended public services and works best in Internet Explorer 5.0 or better

The Appraiser's Web site provides services that allow property owners to view the appraised value of their home or business (and property characteristics) and motor vehicle property tax

This site also provides information on: appealing your appraised value, an online video that explains the appraisal and appeals process, and important dates, deadlines, and forms.
